The Lewis .303 Air Type B was an aircraft-adapted version of the Lewis Gun, a widely used British light machine gun during World War I. Originally designed by American inventor Isaac Newton Lewis in 1911 and later adopted by the British, the Lewis gun became a standard weapon in both infantry and aerial roles.

• Airco DH.5 – Used a single top-wing-mounted Lewis, as the Vickers machine gun couldn't be synchronized effectively.
