Albatros D.V/D.Va Fuselage Woodgrain Decal (PDW-8013)

Woodgrain decal designed to reproduce the characteristic plywood fuselage of the Albatros with a realistic and consistent finish — without complex painting techniques.

This decal has a transparent background and was developed in co-operation with Dave Douglass — a well-known aviation artist and researcher of Albatros and other WWI aircraft.

The natural variation of tone and grain is carefully represented to match laminated plywood surfaces.

Reproducing this effect with traditional techniques usually involves multiple layers of paint, masking and oil-based woodgrain work, requiring both time and experience to achieve a convincing result.

Especially on large fuselage surfaces where consistency is difficult to maintain.

This decal provides a much simpler and more reliable alternative, allowing you to achieve a consistent wood finish without complex painting techniques or trial and error.

Wood texture options
This series includes four different variations: PDW-6013, PDW-7013, PDW-8013 and PDW-9013.

Each set differs in both tone and woodgrain pattern, reflecting the natural variation of plywood surfaces observed on original aircraft.

Rather than representing a strict "light" or "dark" option, these variations allow you to choose the appearance that best matches your reference — or simply your personal preference.
